Biography

Tuti is an Early Career Research Fellow at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme. His background is in Computer Science, and he holds an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from University of Manchester, UK. He also holds a PhD in Learning and New Technologies from Oxford University, UK. His doctoral thesis was on exploring a smartphone-based adaptive learning approach to gamified clinical training in low-income countries.

He has a keen interest in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Computational Sociology, as well as Health Data Science research. Tuti is currently developing a study that is focused on using novel AI tools to harness facility- and patient- level data from structured paper records for the purposes of improved disease surveillance.

Tuti is the pprincipal investigator for the project evaluating an audit and feedback intervention to reduce gentamicin prescription errors in newborn treatment in neonatal inpatient care in Kenya (ReGENT Study) .
